When i first turned on my computer, a band of stripes appeared on the startup screen in white and blending with the blue tint of my startup screen. I went to move my laptop onto my lap and they went away so i thought it was nothing. About 5 minutes later, the same few stripes appeared (very thin, multiple, some white, some blending with the screen). I didn’t know what to do and since i didn’t do anything the screen just completely washed out slowly from color, to stripes, to pure white. If I push down on the top of the laptop screen and hold it there, the stripes disappear briefly and it’s okay for now. (Let’s hope it stays until i finish posting this question). What is going on??!!

Sounds like a loose connection of the cable that connects your monitor to the motherboard. You would either have to send it in if you’re not tech-savvy, or find a service manual for your laptop and tighten the connection again.
