How do I fix my EeePC mini notebook with some kinda BIOS problem at startup?
Please help me. My little laptop will not goto the Windows CE when you start her up, instead the screen flashes, it goes back and forth, back and forth between what appears to be the Dos prompt and a black screen. Each screen displays for about 1 second then goes to the other for 1 second and then back to the other for 1 second…..or I to put it a better way…it changes from what appears to be the dos prompt for one second and then goes to a blank black screen for one second etc….If I push F2 it goes to setup but I dont know what to look for in setup to see if the problem is there. Sometimes it says in the bottom of the screen to push f2 for setup or push tab for BIOS post message.(whatever that means…????) Please tell me how to fix my nieces little netbook thingy so that it will goto windows ce instead of just changing back and forth from a black screen with DOS prompt and a blank black screen…the F2 and Tab message mentioned above shows very briefly during startup…there is also a screen that is grey graphics that says, “Starting system” in the middle of the gray screen that flashes for a couple seconds and at the bottom it says “Asus” in smaller words…that screen comes up when you power up and then it goes to the DOS prompt thingy, Please help….thanks in advance..I love Yahoo Answers!!!
P.S. The one black screen does not seem to be a DOS prompt as previously stated…because it will not accept commands such as C:
for example…when I enter “C:” the flashing cursor remains the same underneath the entry instead of changing like when you enter “C:” in a DOS prompt…..thanks again
