i really want a laptop or netbook, and the acer aspire one 10 inch has a pretty good price and my friend just got one. i tried hers out and i loved it. its soooo light and thin! whats your opinion of the 10 inch acer aspire one?

Don’t bother recommending me any other brands.

It has pretty decent specs for that price. Only thing is I don’t really know much about the reliability of Acers. I’ve looked at it in person for a bit and the only complaint I had was that they keys were the thin, plastic kind.
Is it okay to call Acer and ask them for a laptop pouch/case/sleeve?

Okay, I have a laptop on its way but I’ve seen unboxing videos of it on youtube and read comments on how selected ones have sleeves. It’s a thin computer and i wouldn’t want to just put it in a handbag and go. Basically, the reason is because I think only the blue has sleeve…some might not have one either and yet, on the box’s front flap, there’s a space where the sleeve could have been stored in. Why I know this?–> I’ve had the 8.9″ netbook and it has the sleeve and yeah, the space is supposed to fit the sleeve.
Anyway, do you think it’s okay for me to ask them for one since I would have proof that most netbooks have no case or sleeve for the computers? and will they let me (send one by mail)?
White stripes appear and screen washed out on Acer Aspire 55702 laptop screen?

When i first turned on my computer, a band of stripes appeared on the startup screen in white and blending with the blue tint of my startup screen. I went to move my laptop onto my lap and they went away so i thought it was nothing. About 5 minutes later, the same few stripes appeared (very thin, multiple, some white, some blending with the screen). I didn’t know what to do and since i didn’t do anything the screen just completely washed out slowly from color, to stripes, to pure white. If I push down on the top of the laptop screen and hold it there, the stripes disappear briefly and it’s okay for now. (Let’s hope it stays until i finish posting this question). What is going on??!!

Their newer models are not good? why? The timeline models have a very thin design, lots of memory, high resolution, and very, very long battery life. The price is very, very good too.

I’m using it right now. I accidentally swung a camera and it hit the screen. There is a crack, but it’s not that bad, you can see a thin impact point with two kinda long cracks and a few short ones coming out of it. It’s to the side of my screen, but one crack runs from the crack to the top. It wouldn’t be that much of a problem even, except it flickers when I move the computer at all, (more flickering the more movement). It doesn’t seem to effect the function of my computer, but it is very annoying and I don’t think I could stand it. Should I take it in the a computer repair store and see if they can fix it? Or send it to Acer? If so what would the cost be to repair it, and is it even possible to repair???
What do you think of this ACER Laptop or ACER laptops in general?

I’m looking for a laptop that’s thin, fast, has a nice bright screen, also with backlit keyboard. I will mainly use this for college, and to take around with me, so I need plenty of battery life. I have a desktop at home, so this isn’t a desktop replacement, I just need something else to rely on. Th price needs to be under 1000. I was looking at the ACer Timeline, can anyone reccommend that laptop or an equivalent to it? SOmething better for the price in the market? I’m not prone to brands, but it can’t be a Mac. Need a PC for school.

Because a friend of mine just bought a HP laptop for 600 dollars; however, it is thick and heavy, and I said her that it is an Acer laptop in the market, for about the same price, which includes up to 8 hours battery life, and it is thin and light.
I think that 8 hours it’s too much, and maybe it is false, but at least I think the battery can last more than the HP one.
I don’t know what model the HP Laptop is but I just want to know if it is true that a Laptop can last up to 8 hours battery life, and the most important question is that if Acer is a reliable brand.
Something else, I want to buy a laptop, do I wait for Windows 7 or what do you suggest? =)
Acer laptop pink / white stripes do not start up?

Hey, try to help my buddy who has a problem with Acer notebook PCs. Will not start up, only to come up on the screen is vertical pink and white thin stripes at start up. And a wide black stripe in the middle. Some ideas here?
