    That is not true, i have mine and its great i never had a problem with it i paid 318 for it and i love it its fast, clear screen and has good customer service i called them about the external drive and they gave me a coupon for $15 so i guess there alright.

    Beware of Archos…….buggy hardware and terrible support……plenty of other brands with better offering and price

    You don’t have to have an external drive, You could always map a network drive for software installs.

    I think this is the best looking netbook I’ve seen, I don’t really care about the pre-loaded Archos media stuff,That stuff usually sucks. I’d replace it with XBMC which would run nicely, The only thing I don’t like is that they don’t seem to have an SSD option, I’d love to finally have a laptop I don’t have to worry about replacing a hard drive in every 6 or 7 years, Thinking seriously of getting this one.I could always use it until the HD dies & get an SSD for it.Does it use standard 2.5″ drive

    buy never a archos believe only problmes and Baaaaddd Supoort and everything is not good archos are freaks believe me BE CAREFULL!

    umm actually the opposite. It’s the only one I’ve found so far that doesn’t have greasy fingerprints and smears all over the thing. looks like a nice sleek device instead of a ultra shiny cheapo plastic toy.
